Microneedling Radiofrequency
microneedling radiofrequency
RF Micro Needling is a minimally invasive treatment method which ensures a visible and tangible rejuvenated skin. With this treatment the production of collagen is stimulated through thin needles. The effect of this unique method is scientifically proven.
How does it work?
Fractional Radiofrequency Microneedling causes selective heating in the deep dermis leaving columns of tissue between, undamaged. As it delivers energy deep into the dermis and does not heat up the epidermis, greater levels of energy can be delivered to the target area at the point of insertion of the microneedles avoiding damage, i.e., burning or hyperpigmentation to the epidermis. This creates shortening and tightening of the collagen fibres, and reconstruction of new collagen by the stimulation of fibroblasts. INTRAcel is different from laser as electroenergy is transformed into thermal energy.
The needles are insulated except for the final 0.3mm at the end of the needle where the radiofrequency energy is emmited. This energy transfers from the needle point to cause coagulation and denaturalization of the surrounding dermis. The RF energy is only released in the dermis, eliminating any heat delivery into the epidermis. RF energy can denature cells, destroying the causes of acne, acne bacteria and sebaceous glands.
What can I expect during treatment?
A local or topical anaesthetic is applied to the area to be treated to make the procedure more comfortable. The Doctor will then apply the device to the skin surface releasing the needles and delivering radiofrequency energy in short bursts as the head is moved across the area to be treated. Immediately after treatment the treated area will appear red and slightly inflamed. If uncomfortable, a cool pack, or cold air is applied to the area.
What are the indications for treatment?
It is specifically indicated in the treatment of acne and to improve acne scarring. It is also used to tighten and lift skin, to treat wrinkles, large pores, stretch marks and telangiectasia in facial rejuvenation.
How often do I need treatments?
The interval between treatments is 2-3 months. However the interval level is flexible and depends on the treatment levels. It is possible to achieve positive results with only 1 treatment. However 2-3 treatments can be more effective for some lesions depending on the condition of the patients skin.
What precautions are necessary after treatment?
Aftercare plays an important role in reducing the recovery time
Keep the area clean following the initial treatment session
Cover the treated area with a moist mask and cool towel for 10-15 mins
Use sunscreen to avoid pigmentation from sun exposure.
